Musical journey through the nineteenth century and Central Europe

From the beautiful song to the lightness of the Viennese atmospheres in the name of Verdi and John Strauss son. The chamber music review of the Lirico di Cagliari continues on Saturday 5 November with the Salon Orchester, an instrumental ensemble directed by Filippo Gianfriddo. Appointment at 7 pm in the foyer of the theater for a journey through the nineteenth century and Central Europe. A captivating program that opens with a tribute to the Italian opera tradition, then moves on to the dancing themes of the waltzes, interspersed with the overture from Il bat.
To set the stage for the concert is the famous Rigoletto, in which the main themes of the opera are touched, including arias and beloved pieces. A foray into the masterpiece of melodrama, in the transcription of Émile Tavan. We then move on to the evocative Frühlingsstimmen (Voices of Spring), written for the famous Austrian soprano Bianca Bianchi, born Bertha Schwarz, in the successful orchestral transcription by the same author.
From here to the mischievous panache of the magnificent overture from The Bat, a famous operetta built around a mockery of betrayals, misunderstandings and unmasking that evoke the evanescent atmosphere of the Austrian capital. In closing, the magic of the waltz par excellence, An der schönen blauen Donau, leads the listener into the current of the majestic and sinuous European river.
Founded five years ago and with numerous concerts to its credit, the Salon Orchester is composed of the orchestra professors of the Opera: Gianmaria Melis, (solo violin) Lucio Filippo Casti, (violin), Vladimiro Atzeni (cello), Sandro Fontoni (double bass ), Martina Cirronis (flute), Vinicio Allegrini (trumpet), Luca Mangini (trombone), Pasquale Irìu (clarinet), Salvatore Chierchi (oboe), Giovanni Andreoli (piano), Davide Mafezzoni (percussion).
A first in Sardinia this type of instrumental group that has its origin and diffusion in the courts of fin de siècle Europe. The show has a total duration of about 60 minutes and does not include an interval.
