(ANSA) – COPENHAGEN, JAN 10 – “The current peak of Covid in China should not have a significant impact in Europe”. This was stated by the World Health Organization (WHO). “Scientifically there is no imminent threat to Europe” with respect to the progress of the Covid-19 epidemic in China, as the identified subvariants “are already circulating in the EU”. This was stated by Hans Henri Kluge, regional director for Europe of the World Health Organization (WHO), at the first press conference organized in 2023 to take stock of the epidemiological situation in the European region.
“From the information available to WHO – he said – the variants of the Sars-CoV-2 virus circulating in China are those already seen in Europe and elsewhere”. (HANDLE).
