US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken has announced that he will supply Ukraine with $400 million in additional ammunition and equipment from the US military’s inventory.
In his written statement, Blinken said:
“The United States continues to support Ukraine with additional military assistance to help the country defend itself.
The $400 million package from the Department of Defense inventory includes additional weapons, munitions and air defense equipment, authorized by US President Biden for the 26th time.
With the package, military aid to Ukraine totals about $19.7 billion..
US-supplied artillery ammunition, sniper fire, anti-aircraft missiles and tactical vehicles will best serve Ukraine on the battlefield.CopyAMP code
France and the UK are also involved in our efforts, which also include the £50million air defense system Prime Minister Sunak showed off during his latest visit to Kiev. Additionally, Sweden’s recent air defense commitments are worth about $300 million. We will continue to support Ukraine for as long as necessary so that Ukraine can continue to defend itself and be in the best position at the negotiating table when the time comes.”
