The incidence of Covid-19 cases in Italy continues to decrease. In the period between October 28 and November 3 it was 283 cases per 100 thousand inhabitants (compared to 374 per 100 thousand in the previous week). There was also an important decline in the mean Rt calculated on symptomatic cases, which went from 1.11 to 0.95, a figure below the threshold value. This is what emerges from the latest weekly monitoring on the trend of Covid-19 prepared by the Istituto Superiore di Sanità (Iss) and the Ministry of Health.

Employment in intensive care is increasing

deepening

Covid vaccines, Gimbe: in 7 days, fourth doses drop by 25%

On the other hand, there was a slight increase in the employment rate of Covid patients in intensive care, which went from 2.2% (daily survey by the Ministry of Health as of October 27) to 2.4% (November 3). Opposite trend in the medical areas, where the employment rate fell to 10.4% compared to 10.8% the previous week. However, the values remain below the threshold.

Four moderate-risk regions

The report shows that “no region is classified as high risk, four are at moderate risk and 17 are classified as low risk. Eight regions and autonomous provinces report at least one resilience alert. One region reports multiple resilience alerts ”. Specifically, the four regions that exceeded the 15% alert threshold for the occupation of medical departments by Covid patients are Umbria (33.5%), Valle d’Aosta (20.9 %), Friuli Venezia Giulia (17%) and Liguria (15%). The employment rate of intensive care, on the other hand, remains well below the alert threshold of 10% in all regions and autonomous provinces. The highest percentages are recorded in Umbria (7.1%) and Molise (5.1%), as shown in the table on decision-making indicators attached to the weekly monitoring.

The administration of the fourth doses collapses

Another report, the one conducted by the Gimbe Foundation, emphasizes the collapse in the administration of the fourth doses of the anti-Covid vaccine, recorded in Italy between 26 October and 1 November. Overall, 27,680 patients were inoculated per day, a decrease of 25.3% from 37,031 in the previous week. Almost 4.3 million fourth doses have been administered so far in the Peninsula, covering about two out of ten people among those to whom it is primarily recommended.
