Make space on the sheet with pencils and brushes and interrupt the white by giving vent to lines and signs, ideas, colors and words, even reckless and ‘clumsy’, as long as they are sincere; and then let the fun free your imagination to express yourself with your dreams and desires: the program proposed by “Scarabocchi. My first festival”, the fifth edition of which will animate the Cortile del Broletto, will be entirely dedicated to children and families. in Novara (and other places in the city) from 16 to 18 September.
After the difficulties and gloom of the pandemic, in 2022 the festival – a project by Doppiozero and Fondazione Circolo dei readers – chooses the game as its main theme, inviting all those who participate, from guests to the public, to open up to others and have fun, sharing experiences of leisure but also of growth. Divided into three macro strands (words, scribbles, games), the program includes spoken meetings and creative workshops, workshops and workshops to invent new words, discover the power of poetry or simply learn to write better, but also to try to make drawings and paintings (especially if you think you are not capable of it), and then many shows for adults and children, with the Cortile del Broletto ready to turn into a large artist’s studio, between corners for drawing but also being portrayed, game tables for spend moments of fun together, books to be surprised, continuous cycle workshops to learn about ancient crafts and even a giant game of goose.
Many voices of authors and authors present at the festival, starting with the inauguration of 16 September, when at the Coccia Theater the great designer Francesco Tullio Altan, with an unmistakable trait and relentless sarcasm, the famous ‘father’ of Pimpa, will talk with the journalist and writer Michele Serra, to then meet the public. After this first taste, in these two days of great celebration and unbridled creative freedom, the internationally renowned illustrator Olimpia Zagnoli will also arrive in Novara; the poet and literary critic Valerio Magrelli; the illustrator, graphic designer and designer Guido Scarabottolo; the graphic designer and calligrapher Alessandra Barocco; the master typographer Lino Gerosa; the screenwriter Francesca Serafini. And again: Giovanna Durì, Alessandro Barbaglia, Andrea Cavallini, Marco Migliavacca.
