Published by Treccani, it contains the first reasoned and authorized repertoire of Mario Draghi’s writings and speeches, from his post as President of the European Central Bank up to his term as Prime Minister. The themes of growth and young people are back, the pro-European vocation, trust in institutions, inspiration from the great intellectuals of history (from Cavour to Caffè, from Monnet to De Gasperi) remain intact. History

Mario Draghi was born in Rome in 1947. He was president of the Council of Ministers from 13 February 2021 to 25 October 2022. From 2011 to 2019 he was president of the European Central Bank and of the European Systemic Risk Board. From 2006 to 2011 he was governor of the Bank of Italy and president of the Financial Stability Forum, which later became the Financial Stability Board. Previously he held the positions of vice chairman and managing director of Goldman Sachs International (2002-2005), director general of the Treasury (1991-2001), president of the Economic and Financial Committee of the European Community (2000-2001), president of the Working Party 3 of the OECD (1999-2001) and Executive Director of the World Bank (1984-1990). Between 1975 and 1990 he was professor of Economics at the universities of Trento, Padua, Venice and Florence. Since 2009 he has been a member of the Board of Trustees of the Institute for Advanced Study in Princeton. He was an Honorary Trustee of the Brookings Institution and an Institute of Politics Fellow at the John F. Kennedy School of Government at Harvard University. He graduated in Economics from the University of Rome in 1970 and in 1977 received his PhD in Economics from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
